Let your dreams soar – share handmade kindness week 2

Hello everyone, and welcome back to the 2nd week of Share Handmade Kindness challenge.  Today I made a card for my son’s nursery teacher – she is just lovely and kind, put her heart and soul in the class and children.  She really is the best, and I’m just delighted that my son has such a wonderful teacher.  So this is for her.

I’m also going to get a frame and frame it, then give it to her as a thank you gift.

The clouds, the kites and the sentiment are from Clearly Besotted.  I white embossed the clouds on vellum and cut them out, and stamped the kites on some scrap patterned paper and glitter paper then cut them out, same with the sentiment, white embossed on black cardstock.  For the background, I cheated by using a patterned paper from Crete paper.

Hope you like what I made, and see you soon!

A brand new blog sharing handmade kindness

Hello!  And welcome to my new home!

To celebrate my new blog, I’m joining Jennifer McGuire and her share handmade kindness challenge, to send cards to my lovely family and friends this week.

Actually I send lots of cards, but mainly birthday cards or thank you cards, I rarely send thinking of you cards to people, sometimes it’s just easier to send text messages.  But it IS such a wonderful feeling to receive unexpected cards from your friend/family saying that they miss you.  So I’m going to challenge myself this month to send all the cards that I made this month, and let them know that I think of them and appreciate them.

So without further ado, here are the cards that I made on Monday night.

So for the anchor cards (the first two), I simply silver (Hero Arts super fine) embossed the sentiment on vellum, and added some details around the edges using Lawn Fawn border die.  For the background, I stamped my own using Clearly Besotted Basic Stripes stamp set on some Neenah 80lb cardstock.  Then used a little bit liquid glue adhered the vellum piece onto the cards.  Super quick and simple.

For the 2 coffee cards, again the mug and the sentiments are from Clearly Besotted, I randomly stamped the mug all over the water colour paper then white embossed them.  Then loosely watercolored them using Inktense pencils (out of my comfort zone), then embossed the sentiments on black cardstock and cut them out.  The 2 friends that I’m going to send these cards to have exactly that same mug!  I hope they like the cards!

For the happy mail card, both sentiment and envelope stamps are from SSS sending and wishing set.  Love the set, all-time favourite!

My last card, I stamped my own plaid background using Basic Stripes from Clearly Besotted. But the sentiment and the sending die cut are from SSS – didn’t I tell you, that set is my all-time favourite! The plaid colour combo is inspired by one of Kristina Werner’s cards, click here to check it out.

That’s all for today.  I hope you are also making lots of cards and sending them to your loved ones.

Have a wonderful week and see you soon.
